Prior to his current role, Dr. Chong began his career as a research assistant for Stanford Health Care in 1995 and worked as a dishwasher, busboy and cashier through 1996 while attending Stanford University. During his time as an undergraduate in 1998, he was also a middle school tutor for East Palo Alto Tennis and Tutoring and a high school tutor for College Track. Prior to attending medical school, he served as a nursing assistant for the United States Department of Veterans Affairs from 1999 to 2001 and a SAT and MCAT tutor for Kaplan Test Prep in 2000 to 2001. After completing his medical training, he worked as a diagnostic radiologist for RadNet from 2010 until 2017.
Among his professional accomplishments, Dr. Chong was named a Leading Physician of the World by the International Association of Radiologists in 2012. He was recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Professional in the Field of Healthcare in 2016 and was featured in Best in California Magazine in 2023.
To prepare for his medical career, Dr. Chong earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with Departmental Honors from Stanford University in 1999 and a Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College in 2005. Following these achievements, he completed an internship in internal medicine from Winthrop University Hospital (now NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island) in 2006. He subsequently underwent a diagnostic radiology residency at Mount Auburn Hospital, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, from 2006 until 2010, and finished a musculoskeletal magnetic resonance imaging fellowship at Beverly Radiology Medical Group and RadNet, Inc. in 2011. Looking to the future, Dr. Chong intends to continue helping patients and keeping up to date with technology.
