Upon earning a Bachelor of Science in Radio and Television from Ithaca College in 1995, Mr. Winn began working as a production assistant for FX Networks, where he developed an interest in writing and producing on-air commercials for television shows. Subsequently, he honed his expertise in entertainment marketing with Fox Broadcasting before joining Studio City as a writer, producer, and editor in 1999. An award-winning creative advertising professional, Mr. Winn leveraged his expertise at Trailer Park, which specializes in movie trailers, and later went on to become a vice president of creative film services for Disney Studios.
Drawing on years of professional expertise, Mr. Winn presently serves as a founding partner and creative director of The Refinery AV. Since establishing the company in 2008 alongside Adam Waldman and Brad Hochberg, he has overseen the company's audio/visual and digital/creative content divisions through which he provides creative advertising services for entertainment brands. Likewise, he co-directed, produced, and edited "My Date with Drew." Outside of his work, Mr. Winn puts family first and his wife, 2 kids and three dogs are his true pride and joy. He also remains aligned with the Entrepreneurs Organization and will serve as president of the Los Angeles Chapter in 2024.
Driven to contribute to his community, Mr. Winn also volunteers with A Place Called Home in South Central Los Angeles, PATH San Diego and Dignity Moves. In light of his professional achievements, he has been honored many times, earning several Golden Trailer, PROMAX and Clio Awards. Although his career has been filled with highlights, he takes great pride in sharing the art of making movie trailers and teaching a master class on the subject.
