A talented pianist with more than two decades of excellence in teaching and coaching piano, Dr. Brandenburgh has earned distinction as a piano faculty member for the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Since 2016, she has focused her efforts on practicing her craft as well as teaching piano to students. Additionally, she is the founder of the Dr. Yuking Chou Brandenburgh Piano Studio and has been teaching there since 2009.
Prior to her current position, Dr. Brandenburgh began her career as a faculty member for the Tainan Women's University of Arts and Technology in 1997 and subsequently joined the Music School in Steyr, Austria and The Communiversity in Vienna. Following this time, she was a graduate assistant for the Collaborative Piano Department as well as the Secondary Piano Department for the University of Cincinnati until becoming an adjunct piano faculty member with Mount St. Joseph University in 2009. The same year, she was also a presenter for the Music Teachers National Association's national conference.
Among her professional accomplishments, Dr. Brandenburgh won third prize in the international Maria Canals Jeunesse Piano Competition in Barcelona, Spain in 1991 and received an award for Best Interpretation of Works of the Contemporary Italian Composer Alois Vechiato at the International Finale Ligure Piano Competition in Italy in 1994. The following year, she won second place at the International Kimiko-Sato-Music Competition in Vienna. Added to these, she authored a transcription of Modest P. Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition arranged for early advanced piano solo in 2015 and Rhapsody of Amazing Grace and Beethoven's 9th for piano solo in 2018.
To prepare for her professional journey, Dr. Brandenburgh earned a bachelor's degree as well as a master's degree in piano performance, both from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria. Following these achievements, she attained a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in 2015. She is also a valued member of the Music Teachers National Association.
