Before establishing his private practice, Dr. Brazina was as a clinical instructor in orthopedics for the Veterans Administration Hospital at the University of California, Irvine in 1979 and joined the Century City Hospital's education committee and utilization review committee in 1989. During this period, he also was a clinical instructor of surgery for the Westside Foot and Ankle Institute from 1991 until 1999. He also served on Century City Hospital's medical executive committee, as the outpatient services chairman and as the co-director of the sports medicine center from 1991 until 1993.
Among his professional accomplishments, Dr. Brazina was listed as one of the Super Doctors by the LA Times from 2016 to present 2023 and as one of the Top Doctors for Women by LA Magazine from 2016 through 2020. LA Magazine also named him as one of the Top Doctors of Southern California from 2016 until 2021. He was a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. He is a diplomat of American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, and the Arthroscopy Board of North America.
Dr. Brazina earned a Bachelor of Science in biology and English with a minor in chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh in 1969. He obtained a Doctor of Medicine from the Temple University School of Medicine in 1974 and completed an internship there in general surgery in 1975 at Temple University Hospital. He completed a Residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Jefferson University Hospital from 1975 until 1979. He became Board Certified by the ABOS in 1980.
