While Mr. Yuzbasioglu has always been a food enthusiast, he does not possess a culinary background. In fact, he worked in the financial industry for 26 years, during which he was proud to be named one of the best CEOs in the financial industry by financemagnates.com. Also during his finance career, Mr. Yuzbasioglu opened restaurants in Turkey, all of which were well-received. Inspired to enter the hospitality industry full-time, in 2020 he created the concept for El Turco, where he is responsible for marketing, communications and creating concepts and menus, as well as overseeing 27 staff members and franchisees.
Above all, Mr. Yuzbasioglu considers himself an ambassador to Turkish cuisine and culture in America. As a person of Turkish descent and a representative with the Turkish Gastronomy Tourism Association (GTD) and the Turkish American National Steering Committee (TASC), he encourages foodies all over the world to visit Turkiye and discover their unique food and history. In the coming years, he hopes to advance his vision of introducing Turkish cuisine to the world.
Adjacent to his work with El Turco, Mr. Yuzbasioglu is the owner of Smart Kitchen, a digital delivery restaurant. Previously, he held roles in Turkiye, Mexico, New York, London, and Switzerland with FXDD, BForex, ODL Securities, and Icon Securities. Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Yuzbasioglu earned a bachelor's degree in finance from the prestigious Istanbul University.
Outside of work, Mr. Yuzbasioglu especially enjoys discovering new restaurants, talented chefs, and new recipes. Looking toward the future, he is excited to open new restaurants in New York, Istanbul, Cappadocia, London, Dubai and more in Miami.
