Prior to obtaining his current positions, Mr. Hofmann held a wide range of government and civil executive roles with such agencies as the US Air Force, the NextGen Interagency Planning Office, the MITRE Corporation, and the U.S. Transportation Command.
During the early stages of his career, Mr. Hofmann dedicated himself to his country through the U.S. Air Force. Over the years, he served as Deputy Director of Communications and Chief Information Officer for the U.S. Air Force Reserve Command; Commander, 33rd Flight Test Squadron; Director of Operations, Tanker Airlift Control Center; Chief C-5 Flight Examiner; Senior HH-3 Combat Flight Instructor; Chief of Squadron Tactics, as well as a T-37 Instructor Pilot and Class Commander. Driven to remain abreast of all aspects of aviation, Mr. Hofmann aligns himself with the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
Mr. Hofmann holds a Bachelor of Science in mathematics, physical science, and engineering from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science in Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. In parallel, he maintains his 45-year certification as Airline Transport Pilot and an FAA-Certified Instrument Flight Instructor with ratings in single and multi-engine airplanes and helicopters.
While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Hofmann takes the most pride in serving in Alaska, where he was credited with saving 28 lives and assisting in the rescue of more than 40 others. Another standout moment was helping to define cybersecurity risks for the federal government. The cornerstone of his overall success lay in consistently seeking out the next opportunity. Looking ahead, Mr. Hofmann intends to return to academia, pursue a PhD, and mentor the next generation of industry professionals.
