Backed by years of professional expertise in education, Dr. Miller presently excels as an Assistant Professor and Department Chair of Business Administration at Benedict College and as an Adjunct Professor at Webster University and Virginia Union University. In his dual roles, he leads faculty, coordinates short- and long-term goals, and develops courses and coursework. During the early stages of his career, Dr. Miller gained valuable expertise in education as Vice President of Business and Finance for Allen University, Vice President of Consumer and Executive Banking Manager for South Carolina Community Bank, and in several roles with Wachovia Corp, including Vice President, Small Business Banker, Retail Financial Adviser, and Market Manager.
An expert in his field, Dr. Miller earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. Subsequently, he expanded upon his professional knowledge by earning an MBA from Webster University, a Master of Philosophy in Management, and a PhD in Applied Management and Decision Sciences from Walden University. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Dr. Miller remains aligned with such organizations as the Carolina Uplift Foundation, Inc., where he serves as president, the National Society of Leadership and Success, the National Black MBA Association, National Association of Colleges and Employers, Delta Mu Delta, Golden Key International Honor Society, and a Co-founder of SPARKING STEAM, LLC: A Little Bit of HOPE.
Alongside his work, Dr. Miller contributes to his community as a liaison for the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina President's Fellows and as a member of the Curriculum Committee and Athletic Committee at Benedict College. In light of his professional achievements, he was named Faculty of the Year at Webster University in 2004 and 2005. Additionally, he was nominated for the William T. Camper Award for Excellence in Teaching at Webster University and received the Leaving the Legacy Award from the National Council of Negro Women, Inc., a Trailblazer Award, and the Omega Man of the Year Award. He is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc, where he serves as the Sixth District Social Action Chair and Omega Boys Leadership Camp Director, along with serving on the International Social Action and Omega STEM Committees.
While his career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Miller takes the most pride in earning his PhD and serving his community. Mostly recently he was selected as a member of ForbesBLK. The cornerstone of his success lies in his upbringing and his willingness to learn. Looking ahead, Dr. Miller intends to write additional articles and seek out a higher position within the field. Ultimately, he will remain dedicated to his students and give back to others as a mentor.
