Prior to obtaining her current position at Sam Houston, she worked as an adjunct faculty member and served as the science department chair and skills specialist for the Aldine Independent School District.
During the early stages of her career, Dr. Neill gained valuable expertise in the field as a science teacher with the Klein and Spring Independent School Districts. Alongside her work, she has contributed to her community as a catechism teacher at St. Ignatius Church and as a project consultant for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Dr. Neill aligns herself with the Science Teacher Association of Texas and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
An expert in her field, Dr. Neill earned a Bachelor of Science in Educational, Instructional, and Curriculum Supervision in 1982. Subsequently, she expanded upon her professional knowledge, earning a Master of Science in the same disciplines, as well as a PhD in Learning, Teaching, and Culture from Texas A&M University. In recognition of her professional achievements, she was named the Aldine Independent School District Invest Model Teacher and earned a College of Education Research Scholarship Award from Texas A&M University.
While her career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Neill takes the most pride in earning her PhD and successfully teaching for more than 40 years. Looking toward the future, she intends to experience her career's continued growth and success. Ultimately, Dr. Neill wants to publish her work again and collaborate with others on various projects and presentations.
