A seasoned medical recruiter with years of experience in the defense and educational industries, Mr. Washington presently excels as a physician recruiter and provider recruiter supervisor for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. In this capacity, he manages recruiting efforts in Washington DC, Baltimore, Maryland, and West Virginia, conducts meetings with leadership and hiring managers, formulates recruitment strategies, and addresses physician vacancies promptly. Before obtaining his current role, Mr. Washington worked as a senior physician recruiter for the University of Maryland Medical Systems.
During the early stages of his career, Mr. Washington gained valuable expertise in recruiting and marketing management with the United States Air Force. Driven to serve his country, he also worked as a health professions recruiter for the United States Air Force Reserves, through which he served as a master sergeant for more than 30 years. An expert in his field, Mr. Washington holds an IMPACT sales certificate, an Air Force Health Professions certificate, and a certificate in medical staff recruiting. Likewise, he graduated from the United States Air Force Recruiting School and completed coursework in human resources at the Community College of the Air Force.
Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Washington aligns himself with the Mid-Atlantic Physician Provider Recruiters Alliance, and the Association for Advancing Physician and Provider Recruitment. In conjunction with his work, he consistently donates to Disabled American Veterans. In recognition of his outstanding body of work, he was named Top Health Professions Recruiter of the Year in 2018 and was named to the Black Wealth Initiative through Black Enterprise in 2007. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in establishing three ice cream franchises under the name Maggie Moo's alongside his former spouse and his 18-year career in law enforcement and 33-year military service. The cornerstone of his success lies in his extensive military career, which contributed to personal and professional growth. Looking ahead, Mr. Washington will eventually retire.
