Joining his father's respected practice, Edgerton & Edgerton, Attorneys at Law, in West Chicago in 1996, he was made partner two years later. Highly acclaimed as a prominent litigator, Mr. Edgerton concentrates on representing clients in matters of commercial litigation, collections, mechanic's liens, evictions, construction, contracts, landlord/tenant issues, and real estate.
Edgerton & Edgerton is recognized as a leading commercial, civil, and real estate litigation law firm. Initially founded by Edward J. Farrell in 1952, Mr. Edgerton's father joined the team as an associate in 1966. Subsequently making partner in 1972, he served an instrumental role in the firm's exponential growth and legacy.
Among many professional accomplishments during his extensive career in the courtroom, Mr. Edgerton earned the distinction as the youngest chair-qualified arbitrator. Throughout his career, he has been credited with representing clients in 12 jury trials and hundreds of arbitrations. Prior to joining his firm, Mr. Edgerton gained expertise as an in-house law clerk and legal assistant for several other firms and as a deputy clerk for the Circuit Clerk and County Clerk of Kane County.

Additionally, Mr. Edgerton has served as a mounted ranger, former director, and former vice president of the Kane County Mounted Rangers in Geneva, Illinois, since 1991.
Mr. Edgerton earned an Associate of Science, with high honors, from Elgin Community College. Continuing his studies at Northern Illinois University, he received a bachelor's degree in business management, cum laude, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence, magna cum laude, as fifth in his class. While in law school, Mr. Edgerton was the managing editor of the university's legal publication from 1995 to 1996. He also completed an internship with the Kane County State's Attorney's Office in 1996. Mr. Edgerton was admitted to practice by the Illinois Bar Association and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
As a dedicated legal professional, Mr. Edgerton remains abreast of industry changes as a member, director, longtime judge's night participant, and former board director and chair of the DuPage County Bar Association. He is also a member, former membership chair, and former team captain of the DuPage County American Inns of Court (now Robert E. Jones American Inns of Court). Moreover, Mr. Edgerton is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Kane County Bar Association.
