During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Frelow was key to an initiative that aimed to distribute 500,000 iPads to students in New York City, working closely with the mayor's office, the chancellor's office and other local organizations to provide these devices for students engaging in remote learning. In only 30 days, his team distributed 300,000 iPads to students in New York City, representing the largest sale in Apple education history and the biggest purchase ever made by the New York City Department of Education. Among his professional accomplishments, he was named #1 Regional Sales Manager of the Year and was listed in the Power 100 of New York State in the Education Field in 2020 for his stellar efforts.
Before his present role, Mr. Frelow began his career as a sales and marketing representative for IBM in 1976, holding various roles in marketing communications and enterprise sales until 1996. Following this time, he joined HP Inc. in 1996 in sales and leadership positions, working with large financial service and enterprise accounts. He subsequently was a major account manager for Dell in 2004, earning promotions to a regional sales manager in 2009 and to a senior services sales executive for the Americas in 2010. He continued his career as an education account executive with CDWG in 2012, developing education solutions to improve the teaching and learning experience in New York State schools.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Frelow earned a Bachelor of Science in English language and literature from Springfield College in 1976. He also completed sales training with both HP and IBM and underwent an executive resource program with IBM. Within the coming years, Mr. Frelow intends to retire, potentially part time as a consultant and share his experiences and best practices in the field with other account executives in the country.
