During the early stages of his career, Mr. Bartley gained valuable expertise in recombinant protein development in mammalian systems, plasmid DNA in microbial fermentation systems, viral vectors, and live microbial therapies while in management roles with the University of Wisconsin's Biochemistry and McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research, and the University of Wisconsin Transgenic Animal Facility (currently known as UWBC Animal Models Core). Similarly, he began his decades-long career as a research and development scientist for PanVera LLC. Before embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Bartley earned a bachelor's degree in bacteriology with an emphasis on genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Alongside his work, Mr. Bartley contributes to his community as a volunteer at Hillcrest Bible Church assisting their outreach and support programs as well as previous videography work. On a personal level, he excelled as a semi-professional biker for many years and remains an ultra-endurance athlete to this day, a testament to his drive and determination, and ability to set goals, achieve milestones and accomplish difficult tasks.
While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Bartley takes the most pride in his role as son, husband and father. Professionally, he is proud that the lack of an advanced degree did not negatively impact his advancement to managing director and he continues to work diligently to maintain the success of Waisman Biomanufacturing.
