Krista Kokjohn-Poehler is recognized for being a social impact luminary.

CARLSBAD, CA, November 16, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Krista Kokjohn-Poehler, a dynamic force in the realm of social impact, has ascended to the echelons of prestige by earning a coveted spot in the esteemed Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry. Her inclusion in this revered publication reflects a lifetime of exceptional achievements, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to catalyzing positive change on a global scale.

Krista Kokjohn-Poehler stands as a beacon of innovation and impact, a social impact C-Suite executive, entrepreneur, speaker, and revered university guest lecturer. With a remarkable career spanning over two decades, she has accelerated the B-corp movement, the Girl Effect movement, the environmental movement and the access to youth sports movement.

Her tireless efforts have left an indelible mark on the world. She focuses on leveraging her strategy design expertise to build solutions that unleash the full potential of humanity and drive social change. She has also authored a forthcoming book, Raising Amazing Humans: The Key to Instilling Kindness and a Sense of Self-Worth in Our Kids.

One of her crowning achievements was the co-founding of Becky Bones LLC in 2007, a groundbreaking eco-fashion brand for tween girls that soared to $5 million in sales within a mere three years. Krista's visionary leadership at Becky Bones saw her pioneering a revolutionary hybrid business model. This model, which became a blueprint for others, allocated 25 percent of after-tax profits to environmental causes through a dedicated grant program aimed at empowering girls. Before the advent of B-corps, Krista had already set a precedent, pushing businesses to align with their customers' values rather than just selling products. She influenced her retail partners Kohl's, Journeys and others to flagship environmental fashion products before the trend hit mainstream.

That leadership instilled her as one of the luminaries of the business for social impact revolution which has now affected every S&P 500 company. In fact, on August 10th, 2019: The U.S. Business Roundtable announced the release of a new Statement on the Purpose of a Corporation signed by 181 CEOs who have committed to lead their companies for the benefit of all stakeholders – customers, employees, suppliers, communities (including protecting the environment) and shareholders. The updated statement moves away from Shareholder Primacy, which has been the core of the Business Roundtable philosophy since 1997.

As the B-corp movement evolved, Krista continued her trailblazing journey. From 2016 - 2019, she served as Director of Strategy and Partnerships at the B-corp GOOD Corps, a social impact consultancy that helps corporations design and implement their signature social programs. She worked primarily with leadership teams that were expressing their B-corp mentality. She led account relationships and strategy for projects with the foundations or CSR teams at YouTube, AT&T, AARP, Nike, Dick's Sporting Goods, 100Kin10, Modern Movement Fellowships and more.

Notably, her work with Nike and Dick's Sporting Goods was instrumental in accelerating the access to youth sports movement. She led a 2-year research project and wrote the Dick's Sporting Goods Foundation tagline "Every Kid Deserves a Chance to Play."

Ms. Kokjohn-Poehler helped accelerate the Girl Effect movement as a Director at the Nike Foundation from 2012-2013, which was dedicated to the Girl Effect at the time. The Girl Effect is the belief that the fastest and best way to alleviate poverty is to invest in adolescent girls living in extreme poverty. When girls are invested in; with education, healthcare, etc., they lift themselves out of poverty and bring their communities and their countries with them because when they start earning money they reinvest into their families at a rate of 70% vs. boys at about 45%.

Ms. Kokjohn-Poehler joined the Nike Foundation with a shared intention of redefining the perceived value of millions of adolescent girls living in extreme poverty. The goal was for global leaders to regard girls as the greatest untapped solution the world has. As a visionary leader of the Gates Foundation & World Bank funded initiative Girl Effect University, Ms. Kokjohn-Poehler traveled the world designing and building a holistic learning system that helps international development professionals, government ministers, and donors include girls in multi-million dollar large-scale initiatives. Girl Effect ended up influencing the decisions of Melinda Gates, Michelle Obama and Lorraine Powell Jobs regarding where to focus their efforts and dollars for the highest impact toward their collective vision.

Known for her pioneering work, Ms. Kokjohn-Poehler was asked to join the executive team of Girl Scouts USA to help innovate the national Girl Scout program. While leading the Girl Experience team at Girl Scouts USA as Chief Girl Experience Officer from 2013-2016, they took the famed Girl Scout cookie sale digital and rebranded it as their Social Entrepreneurship program. She also led efforts to re-engage their commitment to badges and to the outdoors, culminating in a National Parks Service partnership and a campout at the White House with former First Lady Michelle Obama (and President Obama) for 50 Girl Scouts. While at Girl Scouts she helped secure over $15 million in funding, including a groundbreaking $5 million partnership with NASA to introduce space science badges.

Krista Kokjohn-Poehler's mission transcends individual success; it is a crusade to unite inspired social innovators and catalyze global transformation. In addition to her illustrious roles detailed above, from 2019 to 2021, she served as the Assistant Dean of the University of San Diego's Kroc School of Peace Studies, and presently holds the mantle of President at Triibe Coaching. Her accolades include being recognized by Brandweek as a Guerilla Marketer of the Year (honorable mention, 2008), a nomination as one of Los Angeles' Women Making a Difference in 2010, and citations in Stanford Social Innovation Review, among other publications.

Krista Kokjohn-Poehler's academic prowess complements her practical achievements. She earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees in visual arts media and communications from the University of California, San Diego in 1998. She furthered her education by obtaining a Master of Business Administration in sports marketing from the University of Oregon Lundquist College of Business in 2001, graduating with Beta Gamma Sigma honors. Her commitment to sustainability is evident through her possession of a certificate in sustainable business practices.

Inclusion in the Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry signifies a lifetime of tireless dedication, visionary leadership, and a relentless pursuit of positive change. Krista Kokjohn-Poehler is not merely an individual of reference value; she is a living testament to the power of one person's unwavering commitment to shaping a better world.
