FEDERAL WAY, WA, November 16, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Harry W. Jarnagan has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Jarnagan is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1975 and thereafter served as an officer in the United States Army for five years, reaching the rank of captain. Following his time there, he went on to be a project manager for Dunbar & Dickson Inc., and attained a Master of Engineering in civil engineering from Texas A&M University, where he also served as a graduate teaching assistant while working toward his degree. After receiving his degree and then registration from the state of Texas as a registered professional engineer, Mr. Jarnagan gained experience in a series of engineering and project management roles, including as a cost engineer at Bechtel and a project controls engineer for the Tennessee Valley Authority and then Fluor-Daniel Inc., now Fluor Corporation.

In 1990, Mr. Jarnagan translated his experiences working at the aforementioned companies into his role as the project controls engineer and supervisor at Morrison–Knudsen, where he stayed for five years before moving on to serve as the project controls manager for the U.S. Enrichment Corporation on a multi-billion dollar high technology laser program. In 1997, he continued to apply his experience and move up the ranks when he joined OHM Remediation as the Western Region project controls manager. The year after, he joined Hatch Mott MacDonald, now Mott MacDonald, becoming a vice president, a position he held for over 14 years.

During that period of time, Mr. Jarnagan earned the Customer Care Award and the Program Manager Award from Mott MacDonald. While with Mott MacDonald, he was the Program Manager for the Washington State Department of Transportation's Alaskan Way Viaduct Replacement Program from 2006 to 2018 and then was part of the consultant management team on a design build project management assignment for Sound Transit on its Federal Way Link Extension Project from 2018 to 2020. Currently, Mr. Jarnagan is a vice president and senior program manager for Hill International Inc., and is now the Program Executive on Washington State Ferries' System Electrification Program.

Along with his professional pursuits and responsibilities, Mr. Jarnagan has devoted his time over the years to several volunteer and professional organizations. From 2003 to 2005, Mr. Jarnagan served as the founder and chairperson for the Beach Boys Historic Landmark Project, which created California Historical Landmark #1041, the Site of the Childhood Home of the Beach Boys. For his contributions to the industry and involvement, he earned a Lifetime Membership Award and a Lifetime Achievement Award through AACE International, a project management professional association, where he has also been a fellow since 2005 and served as that association's president from 2001 to 2002.

Of all his accomplishment in his career thus far, Mr. Jarnagan cites his most notable achievement as being a part of the Alaskan Way Viaduct Replacement Program in Seattle, on which he was the program manager in an effort to replace an elevated highway that was affected by a 2001 earthquake with an alternate transportation corridor through the city; as a result, the second largest underground tunnel of its type in the world was installed under urban Seattle, in part because of Mr. Jarnagan's contributions and skill set. After over 40 years in the engineering sector, Mr. Jarnagan's goal when he retires will be to devote more time to his personal interests and travel.
