For more than six years, Dr. Mohamed has been affiliated with AGC Automotive Americas Co., a division of AGC Flat Glass North America Inc. in Michigan. Acquired in 2017 as a research and development project leader of antenna and connectivity, he subsequently took on additional responsibilities as the group leader of antenna and connectivity in 2019, helping shape the future of connected automotive technology via a dedicated research and development facility. Additionally, Dr. Mohamed was named the NA regional connected system group leader in 2021.
As an antenna and microwave engineering expert, Dr. Mohamed has garnered extensive expertise in advanced antenna project management, antenna team leadership, and 5G and satellite communications (SATCOM) technology implementation, among other critical areas of the automotive industry. As part of his responsibilities at AGC, he designs 5G technology solutions tailored for connected, remotely-operated, and autonomous vehicles, formulates and guides 5G and SATCOM antenna research, and develops initiatives that culminate in product development. Among other initiatives, Dr. Mohamed oversees various team members, nurtures customer relationships, and convenes at global meetings.

He has also been a respected reviewer for the International Journal of Electronics and Communications. Moreover, Dr. Mohamed has served on several professional committees, including as a review committee member and technical program chair for the International Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics.
Before joining AGC, Dr. Mohamed held several engineering positions including with Skyware Global in North Carolina. He also held several positions in his native Egypt with the Electronics Research Institute, Egypt Data Company for Computers and Communications Equipment, and with the American University in Cairo. Additionally, Dr. Mohamed established several start-up companies within Egypt's computer industry, one of which specialized in computer language and programming education.
Throughout his career, Dr. Mohamed has contributed significantly to the satellite industry and the adoption of electric vehicles equipped with connected capabilities, playing a pivotal role in introducing remotely driven automobiles due to the antenna system he co-designed. Looking toward the future, he aims to transition into the capacity of a chief technology officer and launch a communication technology company, possibly in the nonprofit sector.
Civically engaged, Dr. Mohamed has served as a judge for the First Robotics Competition in North Carolina since 2016, as a member of Rotary International since 2016, where he was also notably recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow for his contributions, and as an associate in engineering advisory board member for Johnston Community College in North Carolina, 2016-2017. He has also been active on the board of directors and as secretary for Mother Goose Nursery in Canada and as a board of directors for the Victor Mager school lunch and after-school program in Canada, 2009-2014.
Highly educated, Dr. Mohamed received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science, with honors, in electronics and communications engineering from Zagazig University in Egypt in 1994 and Ain Shams University in Egypt in 2003, respectively. He also earned a Doctor of Philosophy in electrical and computer engineering with a specialization in antennas and microwave engineering from the University of Manitoba in Canada in 2012. Dr. Mohamed holds credentials as a professional engineer through the Engineers Geoscientists of Manitoba and certification in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and automated external defibrillators through the American Heart Association.
Aligned with several industry-related organizations supporting his career, Dr. Mohamed is presently active with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society.
