Ms. McAlister currently serves as the senior director of advocacy and community development for the U.S. Tennis Association in South Carolina. In this role, she works diligently to help build, stabilize and direct local market community tennis associations. She also serves as a grants administrator for South Carolina. Her career journey also includes a significant tenure with the Bank of America Corporation, where she spent 20 years and was Senior Vice President in Corporate Affairs.
Her career at Bank of America included leadership roles for many of the company's brand-defining moments. In addition, she held leadership positions on the bank's Corporate Diversity Executive Team and its Business Continuity Executive Teams. She was the bank's first communications executive to earn a Six Sigma Green Belt.
Other career highlights include work as a sports writer and editor and as Executive Director of the Alliance for Women. She has been an adjunct professor at Columbia College and was a licensed private investigator by the State of South Carolina.
Ms. McAlister was honored in 2022, by Women We Admire, as one of the Top 50 Women Leaders in South Carolina. Her ability to collaborate and to build teams have been instrumental in her success.
Ms. McAlister's academic journey has played a significant role in her professional success. She holds a master's degree in organizational change and leadership. Prior to that, she earned a bachelor's degree from Columbia College in South Carolina in communication arts, with an emphasis on writing and a minor in physical education. Additionally, she is a graduate of the Culinary Institute at the University of South Carolina and of the Women's Campaign School at Yale.
Outside her professional life, Ms. McAlister writes for her blog titled Old Broad & New Trix and enjoys traveling as well as the lake and beaches of the Palmetto State. She is also a founding member of an annual fundraiser to support families of those undergoing cancer treatments at South Carolina Oncology Associates.
