A widely regarded chiropractic physician and applied kinesiologist, Dr. Timothy Francis has maintained a private practice in Las Vegas for more than three decades. He is noted for his involvement with the International College of Applied Kinesiology and for developing his own unique approach to patients utilizing various schools of thought, including chiropractic, acupuncture, nutrition, homeopathy, and various schools of muscle testing.
Dr. Francis taught chiropractic technic and biomechanics at the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in the Department of Principles and Practice from 1983 to 1985. As a student, he taught on behalf of the Department of Recreation and Physical Education at the University of Nevada. In 1984, Dr. Francis graduated magna cum laude from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic with a Doctor of Chiropractic, and in 1990, he became a diplomate in applied kinesiology through the International Board of Applied Kinesiology (IBAK). In 1993, he received an NMD degree from the American Naturopathic Medical Certification and Accreditation Board. Dr. Francis also attended the British Institute of Homeopathy through which he earned a diploma in homeopathy and later a doctorate of homeopathy in 1997. A diplomate in behavioral medicine certified in 2001 by the International Academy of Behavioral Medicine, Counseling and Psychotherapy, he also was awarded a diplomate in the College of Physicians in 2003. Most recently, in 2014, Dr. Francis received a doctor of divinity from the Universal Life Church.
Dr. Francis has contributed articles to professional journals, including those published by the ICAK, and served on the editorial review board of Alternative Medicine Review. He has taught on behalf of the ICAK and the Union Institute College of Undergraduate Studies, and participated in a joint study with the National Olympic Training Center in Beijing, China.
Dr. Francis is a fellow of the International Academy of Clinical Acupuncture, the British Institute of Homeopathy, and the American Association of Integrative Medicine. Additionally, he has supported groups, including the Nevada State Chiropractic Association and the Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research.
A recipient of the Charles F. Cutts scholarship, Dr. Francis completed coursework at the University of Nevada, Reno where he was an honor roll student. He went on to attend the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic of the Southern California University of Health Sciences, through which he received a Bachelor of Science in 1982 and Doctor of Chiropractic, magna cum laude, in 1984. He also completed postgraduate coursework at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, receiving a Master of Science in biology/nutrition in 1990.
Notably, Dr. Francis is the only individual to receive the Alan Beardall Memorial Award four times from the International College of Applied Kinesiology. In addition, he was selected to receive the Scholar of the Year Award from The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi in 1980.
