CLOVIS, CA, November 27, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Judy Sue Dixson, retired educator from Manchester Gate Elementary, has been selected by Marquis Who's Who for a prominent feature in the San Francisco, California, regional edition of Forbes magazine.
Prior to her retirement, Judy Sue Dixson distinguished herself as an elementary school educator. Motivated by a deep and abiding compassion for her students, she served as a teacher at the Manchester Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) Elementary School from 1983 to 2002. Having worked in Fresno, California, throughout much of her professional journey, Mrs. Dixson served in similar capacities at the Fresno Unified School District beginning in 1966 and in leadership roles with the California Elementary Mathematics Initiative and the California Science Implementation Network throughout the early 1990s.
Despite her retirement, Mrs. Dixson has remained committed to the edification of others through her tutoring and volunteer efforts. She previously earned distinction through a similar role with the Samaritan Women and as a master teacher on behalf of her colleagues with the National Teacher Training Institute in Fresno from 1994 to 1995. Likewise, Mrs. Dixson contributed as a member of the San Joaquin Valley Mathematics Project, a provider of leadership development training for K-12 mathematics educators in the Central Valley of California. She maintains affiliation with the California Retired Teachers Association to remain aware of developments in her field.
Recognized for her contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Mrs. Dixson has always been involved in the Christian community. She has served on the Care Team of the New Covenant Community Church since 2003 and has functioned as the secretary of the Care Team since 2015. Previously, Mrs. Dixson availed herself on behalf of congregants as a deaconess from 2013 to 2017.
Among her most dearly held accomplishments, Mrs. Dixson is proud to have cultivated longstanding relationships with her former students, two of whom attend her church. Mrs. Dixson attended Fresno State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in biology in 1966.
