Hailing from more than 20 years of experience in recreation and gaming services, Melissa G. Helton is the president and general manager of FanDuel Sportsbook and Horse Racing. The racecourse features in-season horse racing events, off-track betting and several eateries. Supported by expertise in leadership and strategic planning, Ms. Helton is responsible for overseeing general operations and strategic planning. She also liaises with horse jockeys and sees to the health concerns of horses following races.
Prior to her current endeavors, Ms. Helton was involved in operations for Caesars Indiana, Tropicana – Belle of Baton Rogue, the Apache Gold Casino Resort, Centaur Gaming, and the Del Lago Resort & Casino, where she advanced to the position of senior vice president of finance. Outside of her primary roles, Ms. Helton is involved in her community as a board director of the regional chamber of commerce and in a similar administrative role with the local department of agriculture.
Ms. Helton is most proud to have served as a positive force for change in company culture, particularly in fostering an atmosphere of open communication among her employees.
