Dr. Mukherjee is a materials scientist, semiconductor chip expert, and executive with more than 20 years of expertise in technology research and development. Born in India, he completed his high school at the prestigious The Hyderabad Public School in 1992 and began his college education at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, where he earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Metallurgy in 1996. Dr. Mukherjee relocated to the United States to pursue graduate-level study at the University of Cincinnati, which awarded him a Master of Science in Materials Science in 1998 after naming him the best graduate student in his cohort. He remained at the University of Cincinnati, completing a Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Science in 2003.
Dr. Mukherjee joined Sentech Corporation as a senior research engineer in 2003, departing the following year to become a senior process engineer for Intel Corporation. In 2010, he transitioned to a staff engineer position with Intel, rising to senior staff engineer in 2013. After his departure from the company in 2017, he briefly served as Director of Process Technology for AIXTRON Inc, before accepting the same role at Eugenus, Inc. In 2018, he was named Senior Director of Process Technology for Eugenus, Inc., and in 2019 he was again promoted to Vice President of Process Technology for the company. Since 2020, Dr. Mukherjee has served as the Vice President of Process Technology for Kepler Computing, Inc., a computing startup where he is responsible for leading research and development of novel semiconductor chip technologies and overseeing the company's manufacturing processes.
Throughout his career, Dr. Mukherjee has developed a reputation for innovation and excellence in materials science, electronic materials and silicon semiconductor chip fabrication. He holds more than 140 U.S. patents (_450 patents worldwide), has been invited to present talks at prestigious conferences such as the IEEE Electron Devices Meeting and American Vacuum Society ALD Conference, and authored papers appearing in Applied Physics Letters, the Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, IEEE Electron Device Meeting Proceedings, Chemical Communications, Journal of Materials Research, Ferroelectrics, and others. His work has been cited more than 6,000 times, and he has been invited to speak at institutions including the University of Central Florida. Dr. Mukherjee credits his success to his passion for his work and desire to do something with the potential to positively impact the world, and is proud to have created several cutting-edge chip technologies that entered commercial production and are currently used worldwide in most computing devices.
