During her career, Ms. Edmonds most significant design contribution has been within a subset of aviation known as General Aviation (GA), a niche market which focuses primarily of private passenger air transport. Vital to her success, she identified how to combine the necessary amenities with exceptional design to develop highly functional interior spaces. Her keen foresight transformed the notion of these utilitarian terminals into experienced based, higher-end environments. Her ethos was the introduction of brand-driven design ideas, fused with critical hospitality components which resulted in solutions that translated as a viable business expansion model for her clients. A key component to Ms. Edmonds success, was her ability to interpret the local market in which the client was expanding, identify the drivers and design a space with the kind of sensitivity that paid homage to the regional vernacular. Her process was easily identifiable by marketing executives looking to differentiate themselves from the competition, especially in a highly competitive general aviation market.
Designing for many airports nationwide. Ms. Edmonds' significant portfolio has garnered local and national attention, with projects completed throughout the east and west coast of the U.S., including Los Angeles, Boston, Seattle, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, New York, Miami, and Washington, D.C., and abroad in Toronto, Montreal, Paris and Nice Cote d'Azur. Looking toward future goals and aspirations, Ms. Edmonds envisions establishing a signature collection of casework and furniture pieces which are incorporated into her designs being made available to the public.
During an earlier stage of her career, Ms. Edmonds served as a project director for WET Design from 2003 to 2004, Director of Design and Communication for CTEK's Architectural Division between 2000 and 2004, and designer for Carmen, Norsten, Igonda (CNI) Design from 1998 to 2000.
Civically engaged, Ms. Edmonds remains affiliated with California State University Long Beach since 2010 as a student thesis mentor and advisory board member for its interior architecture program. She also served as a guest lecturer on campus in 2022 and 2023.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Edmonds received an Associate of Arts in Business Administration from Highline College in 1993, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from Washington State University in 1998. Her company is recognized as a certified women-owned business, certified small business enterprise, and certified disadvantaged business enterprise.
Ms. Edmonds is a professional member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA). The IIDA honored her work with a Calibre Design Award in Public Spaces and Education in 2015. She was nominated in 2015 for Women Making a Difference by the Los Angeles Business Journal and selected to receive the Pasadena Awards Program for Interior Design in 2023.
