An accomplished legal expert with more than two decades of expertise to her credit, Mrs. Burnsed recently opened up her own legal practice, the Law Office of Carrie Burnsed, LLC. Previously as Counsel for Day Pitney LLP, she negotiated and drafted agreements for physicians and physician groups, provided revisions for Connecticut Homemaker and Companion Service Agreements, and reviewed medical teaching contracts. Prior to obtaining her current role, Mrs. Burnsed worked in the same role for Ragin Nassau and C. Craig Cole & Associates, where she began as an associate.
During the early stages of her career, Mrs. Burnsed gained valuable expertise in law as an associate attorney with the Law Office of Nita R. Giles, where she managed daily office operations and provided legal advice and counseling. Due to her vast breadth of knowledge, she has authored a number of publications, including "Understand Your Rights When a Complaint is Filed Against Your Nursing License" and ''Notarizations for the Elderly," as well as such presentations as "There's No Place Like Home."
Driven to remain abreast of ongoing industry changes, Mrs. Burnsed aligns herself with the Connecticut, Oklahoma, and the American Health Law Association. Mrs. Burnsed was recently selected to serve on the judging panel for the American Health Law Association's Inaugural Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility "IDEA" Champion. Mrs. Burnsed has been a member of the AHLA since 2002. An expert in her field, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Florida State University in 1999. Subsequently, Mrs. Burnsed expanded upon her professional knowledge, earning a JD from Oklahoma City University's School of Law and being admitted to practice through the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Western, and Northern Districts of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma and Connecticut Bar Associations.
In light of her professional achievements, Mrs. Burnsed received the CALI Award for Excellence in Administrative Law and three silver keys from the American Bar Association's Law Student Division. While her career has been filled with highlights, she takes the most pride in expanding her first employer's practice to 120 clients immediately following her graduation from law school. Looking toward the future, Mrs. Burnsed intends to grow her legal practice as principal attorney of the Law Office of Carrie Burnsed, LLC.
