An accomplished school administrator, Mr. Davidson has been the superintendent at Timothy Christian Schools in Elmhurst, Illinois, since 2010. In his prominent role, his tasks vary, from mission anchoring, to driving excellence throughout the school system, to raising funds, and connecting with students, staff, and parents. Mr. Davidson is a champion for students and not only attends every game, concert, and competition, oftentimes attending multiple school events a day, he also leads a high school Bible study every Wednesday before school.
Timothy Christian Schools – a nondenominational and faith-based PreK-12 school – is accredited by Cognia™, a member of CESA and ACSI, and recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education. The school was founded over a century ago in 1911 and is notably the largest Christian school in the state and one of the largest in the country with nearly 1,300 students currently enrolled. The school has record enrollment with wait pools at most grade levels. Mr. Davidson has catapulted the school to record heights, and it is now widely recognized as one of the premier Christian schools in America.
Mr. Davidson is a visionary leader, and under his tenure he has overseen $60 million in capital improvements, which includes a new middle school with a state–of-the-art athletic gymnasium, a new outdoor stadium, an addition to the high school and elementary school, real estate acquisitions, plus expanding existing academic programs, and new initiatives. Most notably, Mr. Davidson has championed six major capital campaign projects – all completed on schedule, under budget, and without debt.
Additionally, with insights from premier consultants and to align with best practice, the governance model of the school has gone through necessary and healthy restructuring during his career to acknowledge and promote a more well-rounded and diverse representation from the school community. Moreover, as a testament to his leadership, Timothy Christian High School received a National Blue Ribbon of Excellence in 2018 from the U.S. Department of Education.
Mr. Davidson recently celebrated his 30th year in Christian education, having started as a teacher and coach in 1993. He later transitioned into administration as the dean of students and ultimately the secondary principal at Aurora Christian School in Illinois, and then as the superintendent at Northwest Christian School – the largest private school in Arizona during his tenure. He is now in his fourteenth year as superintendent at Timothy Christian Schools.
Besides his primary career endeavors, Mr. Davidson has served on numerous professional boards and committees, mainly in the nonprofit and education sectors. Among them, to name a few, he is an active board member for the Illinois Coalition of Nonpublic Schools, the Timothy Foundation, Reclaim13, Thrivent, AZTO, and as a board member and finance committee member for One Line Church. He also speaks and consults around the country on educational issues and leadership. He is regarded to be a key spokesperson for the Christian school movement. Mr. Davidson serves on review teams for CESA and holds a CESA Head of School Certification.
Mr. Davidson received a Bachelor of Arts in history and secondary education from Trinity International University in 1993 and a master's degree in educational leadership and administration from Benedictine University in 2005. In light of his success, he was recognized by the Illinois Music Educators Association for the Outstanding Administrator of the Year Award in 2017, and by the Illinois State Board of Education with a Meritorious Service Award in 2023. He was awarded the inaugural Outstanding Leadership Award at Timothy Christian Schools in 2021. Drawing a sense of fulfillment and reward in his work, Mr. Davidson enjoys helping young people achieve their goals and positively impact the lives of those around them. He frequently reminds his students of this truth: "God loves you, and He has a purpose for your life. Nothing will be impossible for you as you live out that purpose for His glory."
