With more than two decades of excellence in auditing and risk management, Ms. Lui has earned distinction as an internal auditor 3 for the Oregon State Treasury. Since 2021, she has focused her efforts on undertaking internal audits for the treasury, operating with a strong sense of integrity and honesty. Additionally, she is a valued member of the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Chartered Accountants Worldwide Network USA.
Before her present role, Ms. Lui began her career as an auditor for Audit New Zealand in 2001 and was an internal auditor with WelTec (Wellington Institute of Technology) in 2005. Following this time, she served as an internal auditor for the Ministry of Social Development in Wellington, New Zealand in 2007 until becoming a senior auditor for the Ministry for Primary Industries in 2009. She continued her career as a senior analyst for Deloitte Australia in 2011 and was a senior assurance consultant for SA Health in 2014.
In 2015, Ms. Lui worked as a senior internal auditor of the Government of South Australia Department of the Premier and Cabinet until taking a role as a team leader of financial management for the Department for Child Protection in 2019. After serving as a senior internal auditor for the Department of the Premier and Cabinet in 2020, she became a senior internal audit and risk officer for the South Australia Department for Child Protection later that year. She also was a governmental auditor 3 for the Oregon Department of Education in 2021.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Lui earned a Bachelor of Management Studies in accounting and marketing from The University of Waikato in New Zealand in 1997.
Well-qualified in her field, she attained a chartered accountant certification in 2003.
Looking to the future, Ms. Lui intends to maintain her professional pursuits towards achieving a position as the head of internal audits. She is most proud to have been selected to represent the South Australian government for the Shandong, China trip in 2017. The exchange program allowed only eight personnel from the government to participate and she therefore underwent a rigorous selection process comprising interviews, training sessions and engaging in case studies before being invited to participate in the program.
