Ms. Boudreau is a clinical nurse and consultant specializing in legal cases involving medical records and practice issues. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Purdue University in 2003, and has pursued extensive continuing education throughout her career. In 2010, she earned a certificate in legal nurse consulting from the Vickie Milazzo Institute, and in 2017 she became a certified medical-surgical registered nurse, building on her diverse clinical experience and additional training in advanced cardiovascular life support and stroke assessment.
She began her clinical career in 2004 as a trauma and general surgery nurse for the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, and joined the Cross Country Medical Staffing Network as a travel nurse the following year. After two years of travel nursing, Ms. Boudreau accepted a mother-baby staff nursing position with the NorthShore University Health System based at Evanston Hospital, where she would remain until 2009. Ms. Boudreau excelled as a medical-surgical and progressive care float pool nurse for the Saint Joseph Health System from 2009 until 2018, when she rose to her current role as a house supervisor for the network. In 2019, Ms. Boudreau established Boudreau Nurse Consulting to offer attorneys and other legal professionals her subject matter expertise in a variety of medical cases, including reviewing legal cases for merit, writing reports and expert testimony, and developing timelines and chronologies for use in establishing cases.
Ms. Boudreau credits her success to the broad range of settings and specialties that she has experienced throughout her time in the healthcare field, and to the support and inspiration of her network of other legal nurse consultants. In order to remain at the leading edge of her field, Ms. Boudreau is a member of the American Nurses Association, the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants, and the Indiana Nurses Association. She looks forward to continuing to expand her practice as a consultant, with the eventual goal of transitioning out of clinical work within the next decade. Outside of work, Ms. Boudreau spends time with her son, volunteering at his school and their church, or reading.
