PORTLAND, OR, December 08, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Henry Kaiser has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Backed by years of professional experience in healthcare project management, quality assurance, account development, and clinical counseling, Dr. Kaiser presently serves as chairman emeritus of the board of directors he formed for Thomsen's, Inc. a project involving conversion of an entrepreneurial LLC into a professionally run corporation with a science-based approach to remediate the unaddressed global public health risk of filthy, disease spreading escalator handrails, and other high-touch high-traffic public spaces. Dr. Kaiser also currently serves as the Strategic Executive advisor for 3H Bio and Urotech, two life science start-ups based in Korea now preparing for FDA submissions during 2024. Dr. Kaiser was a Founding Board member and Co-Director of the Neurofeedback Advocacy Project, and served for 30 years as a Director of Kaiser Foundation Hospitals & Health Plan and 20 years as a Trustee of the Kaiser Family Foundation. He served on many smaller Boards in the course of his work in the venture capital field during affiliations with Research & Science Investors, Harvest Ventures, and WI Harper Group.
Early in his career, after service in the US Navy as a Supply Officer, he joined Kaiser Industries in Oakland CA, Dr. Kaiser conceived and led a research collaboration for the Kaiser Glass Fiber Division involving European and Asian partners, and followed this assignment by serving as President of Kaiser Foundation International. Dr. Kaiser led a team of Kaiser Engineers during reconstruction efforts in Nicaragua following an earthquake in 1972. Dr. Kaiser's transition to entrepreneurial activities began with writing the business plan and raising capital for a leveraged buyout of a division of Hercules, Inc. Similarly, he secured friends and family seed capital, and lead investment from DLJ Venture Capital for a fintech startup in the offshore captive insurance field.
During his career, Dr. Kaiser served in various Board consulting, and/or advisory positions with a wide variety of organizations including the Berkeley Repertory Theater, the Haight Ashbury Free Clinics, the Oregon Bioscience Association and, more recently, Milagroai, an Israeli-led start-up in the then emerging AI field. Dr. Kaiser has served as performer and a Director of several Portland Oregon community organizations, most notably as a Director of the Influence Music Hall.
Dr. Kaiser is the author of "Inheritance Lost – Heritage Transformed," examining the voluntary liquidation of Kaiser Industries and the subsequent transitions and challenges of transition from a corporate career to an entrepreneurial career involving investment in several fields of technical and financial innovation.
Dr. Kaiser holds an MBA from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business and a PsyD in clinical psychology from Meridian University. Subsequently, he expanded upon his professional knowledge, becoming a certified alcohol and drug counselor. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Kaiser aligns himself with the Family Firm Institute, the Venture Capital Association, and the National Association of Directors. Due to his experiences described in his book, Dr. Kaiser was mentioned frequently in "The Quest for Legitimacy" written by Dr. James Weiner. Dr. Kaiser's book is a "deep dive" into Dr. Weiner's theme.
While his career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Kaiser takes the most pride in how he managed the transition from an anticipated high profile corporate career to an entrepreneurial career without having the capital base associates expected him to have or control and rebuilding his professional reputation in the industry after a difficult period. Looking toward the future, Dr. Kaiser intends to give increased attention to policy issues surrounding the integration of ILF Neurofeedback into mental health care for the neediest, including the homeless and veterans.
