Respected for her expertise, Ms. Towne dedicated over three decades to the industry and made numerous significant contributions.
Ms. Towne began her career after college and garnered success with several leading organizations throughout New York, Hawaii, and Connecticut. Among them, she worked for ADP as a systems and programming manager from 1971 to 1979. She also worked for Berol USA as a data processing manager between 1979 and 1985 and IPCO as a corporate director of information systems from 1985 to 1989. Among other noteworthy roles, Ms. Towne served as the director for MIS Sterling Optical and the director of information systems for L'amy.
During her tenure with ADP, Ms. Towne was involved in the development of several systems, which were instrumental in addressing the challenge of settling trades for the brokerage industry at a time when it was facing imminent collapse. The software developed by her and her team was pivotal in enabling companies to handle the volume and complexity of trades.
Ms. Towne graduated from Hunter College in New York with a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics, chemistry, and education in 1966 and the University of Connecticut with a Master of Business Administration in 1986.
Grateful for her achievements, Ms. Towne recognizes her continued ability and enthusiasm for continuous and self-directed learning as someone who always strived to find ways to improve upon existing processes. Moreover, she was aware of the importance of understanding the complexity of software development.
