In this capacity, he assists entrepreneurs in leveraging their company's unique edge. Additionally, he prepares patent and trademark applications, manages infringement analysis and portfolios, and oversees copyright registrations. Previously, Mr. Coffy worked as a Patent Examiner at the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO).
During the early stages of his career, Mr. Coffy gained valuable expertise in the field in similar roles with The Farrell Law Firm, P.C, Cozen O'Connor, an associate Patent Attorney for Wall & Tong, LLP. An expert in his field, he earned an Associate of Science in Electrical Engineering (ASEE) from Norwalk State Technical College and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from Fairfield University. Subsequently, Mr. Coffy expanded his professional knowledge by completing a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) from the Florida Institute of Technology and a Juris Doctor (JD) from Seton Hall University's School of Law. In the late-1990s, he also studied technology management at the PhD level at Stevens Institute of Technology.
Devoted to his community, Mr. Coffy contributes to various charities in his area. Due to his vast breadth of knowledge, Mr. Coffy authored many articles and is the co-author of two (2) books namely, (1) "The Value of Your Idea$" and (2) "Do You Want To Be A Digital Entrepreneur" published by Trafford Publishing Co. and he assisted in the invention of a low friction apparatus. The invention issued as U.S. Pat. No. 8,585,092. In light of his professional achievements, he has been honored many times, earning a Congressional Certificate of Special Recognition from Congressperson Yvette Clarke. Mr. Coffy has also earned New York Council Citations from Matthieu Eugene and Jumaane D. Williams.
While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Coffy takes the most pride in attending law school and being admitted to a PhD program. The cornerstone of his success lies in his perseverance, patience, and dedication to himself and his goals. Looking toward the future, Mr. Coffy intends to expand his firm and continue utilizing his expertise as the host of a legal counseling podcast.
