WICHITA, KS, December 13, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mario Asselin has been included in Marquis Who's Who. With more than four decades of excellence in aircraft design and certification, Mr. Asselin has earned distinction as the chairman and co-chief executive officer for Asselin Inc. and co-chief executive officer of The AirCraft Company. Since 2007, he has focused his efforts on improving flight safety through the standardization of flight test procedures, providing conceptual aircraft design and flight test support services. Additionally, he has served as a continuing education instructor with the University of Kansas since 2004 and is an associate fellow with the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). He was also a member of the Manufacturers Flight Test Council, the Electric Flight Test Council and he is an advocate for the International Aviation Womens Association (IAWA).
Before his current role, Mr. Asselin served honorably as a captain for the Canadian Armed Forces from 1983 until 1997. He then was promoted to a section chief Ballistics and Maintenance (BAM) in 1997, becoming a section chief bombardier flight test center for Bombardier Aerospace in 2001. Following this time, he served as the vice president of engineering for the Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corporation in 2004 and became a senior manager of flight test for Honda Aircraft in 2007.
In parallel, Mr. Asselin worked as a chief engineer for Stratospheric Flight Sciences from 2006 until 2014. In 2011 he returned to Bombardier Aerospace where he was the director of flight test center engineering, operations and quality. He was then a fellow for flight sciences and TCCA DAD performance, stability and control in 2017. He is most proud to have brought the Bombardier Global 7500 to supersonic speed in May 2021.
In 2023, Mr. Asselin formerly launched The Aircraft Company (www.TheAircraftComplany.org) to design, build, test, certify, and manufacture the Pangea® Family of hybrid-electric regional airlines that will be wheelchair accessible.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Asselin earned a Bachelor of Engineering in mechanical engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada. Following this achievement, he attained a Master of Applied Science in aerothermodynamics from Polytechnique Montreal in Canada in 1990.
