Tomeka M. Robinson, PhD Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Education

Dr. Tomeka Robinson lends years of expertise to her work with Hofstra University's Honors College



As a seasoned educational administrator, she oversees the undergraduate research assistant program and the honors options program alongside other faculty members.

    HEMPSTEAD, NY, December 14, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tomeka Robinson has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Dr. Robinson supports over 1,400 students as the senior associate dean of Hofstra University's Honors College. As a seasoned educational administrator, she oversees the undergraduate research assistant program and the honors options program alongside other faculty members. In addition to her work in administration, she is a professor of rhetoric and public advocacy. During the early stages of her career, Dr. Robinson gained valuable expertise at Hofstra as an associate professor and director of the speech and debate program and as an associate communication professor at Marietta College.

Over the years, Dr. Robinson also fostered considerable expertise in public relations, marketing, education, and more with the George Bush Foundation, Be The Match, operated by the National Marrow Donor Program, Texas A&M University, and KPLC-TV. An expert in her field, she earned a bachelor's degree in biology and speech communication from McNeese State University. Subsequently, Dr. Robinson expanded her professional knowledge, earning a Master of Arts in Health Communication and a PhD in Health Education from Texas A&M University.

Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Dr. Robinson aligns herself with the National and International Communication Associations. Alongside her work, she has fulfilled several roles with Pi Kappa Delta. She has also dedicated herself to her local Planned Parenthood and co-founded the Long Island Academic and Community Partnerships.

In recognition of her outstanding accomplishments, Dr. Robinson was inducted into the National Forensic Association Hall of Fame. Recently, she also received the ER Shield Excellence in Teaching Award and the L.E. Norton Award for Outstanding Scholarly Contribution Discipline Award from the Pi Kappa Delta Division at National Communication Association Conference. While her career has been filled with highlights, she takes the most pride in her research and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students. Though hard work and dedication have brought her far in her career, she attributes her success to networking, specifically regarding research collaboration and knowledge acquisition.
