Mr. Carter is the vice president of field services at Benco Dental. Prior to stepping into his current position, he received a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Virginia Tech. Starting in 2002 he entered the dental field and joined Marshall-Carter Marketing, where he eventually became a partner and stayed for over seven years, before starting a career at Benco Dental in 2010.
Aside from working as an equipment sales specialist at Henry Schein from 2013 to 2014, Mr. Carter been a part of and has grown a career at Benco for over a decade, working his way up from equipment specialist to regional sales manager to director of field services of the West and now vice president of field services, a position he has held since 2022. In his current role, his day-to-day responsibilities include running the strategic initiatives team, reviewing field service budgets, and reviewing key performance indicators (KPIs). Moreover, he makes strategic adjustments to the business to improve its performance to meet the different KPIs.
For his work at the company over the years, Mr. Carter has earned several awards, including the Innovative Product Drive Completion Award in 2018 as well as the BencoBlu Gold 2019 Q1, BencoBlu Gold 2019 Q3, and BencoBlu Gold 2020 Q3 awards. Reflecting on his accomplishments, he attributes his success to his drive to continuously learn and improve, work hard and put his community and the world first. Early on, his parents encouraged him to work hard and his mentor and first business partner, Steve Marshall, took him under his wing and instilled a lot of confidence in him.
Of all his achievements at Benco, Mr. Carter's most notable achievement was leading his team through the tumultuous times during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the challenging times, they took the region from being a bottom-third performer to being a top-three region out of 26 at the time. Drawing on his leadership skills and foresight, Mr. Carter, who was the company's strategic manager at the time, was able to lead in a time leadership was needed most.

Not only do his achievements at Benco illustrate this ethos but so does his third-degree purple belt in Shaolin Kung Fu, which he earned in 2020 through 9 Dragons Kung Fu. Aside from focusing on his kung fu practice, Mr. Carter volunteered his time at the Junior Achievement of Arizona from 2018 to 2021 as an education volunteer.
In the next five to 10 years, Mr. Carter's goal is to become the chief executive officer at Benco or a similar company where he can apply his expertise. Additionally, he wants to continue to focus on his personal learning and plans to do so by gaining more perspective through international travel.
