Prior to obtaining her current position, she was with Arruda Real Estate Associates in the same role as a trusted Realtor in her community. Before working in the real estate industry, she worked as a Marketing Assistant with Simon Property Group from 2008 to 2012. During the early stages of her career, she gained valuable expertise as the Owner of bluebean designs in Los Angeles, which specialized in visual merchandising, visual displays, photo styling and interior decorating. In addition, Mrs. Sawyer served as a College Admissions Counselor for Bentley University in Waltham, MA.
An expert in her field, Mrs. Sawyer has taken all of the skills gained throughout her working career in order to fine tune her ability to interview, negotiate contracts, stage and decorate clients' homes, market effectively and present herself as a consistent professional.
Mrs. Sawyer earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Stonehill College in 2000 and upon completion of her studies at The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, she graduated in 2004 with an Associate's Degree in Visual Communication.
Over the years Mrs. Sawyer has continued to push herself as a professional and strives to keep herself educated and informed so that she can best serve her clients. She has expanded upon her knowledge through several classes and has earned additional designations and recognitions such as a Pricing Strategy Advisor, Certified Military Relocation Specialist, Certified At Home with Diversity Realtor, Ninja Selling Graduate and Certified Residential Specialist Designation which positions Mrs. Sawyer in the ranks of an elite group; fewer than 2% of Realtors are Certified Residential Specialists. In recognition of her professional achievements, she has earned the Master's Club Sales Award from the Eastern Connecticut Association of Realtors, the Excellence in Client Service from Homes.com|homsnap.com and Gold & Platinum Sales Awards with William Pitt Sotheby's International Realty.
Outside of work, Mrs. Sawyer contributes to her community as a volunteer with Thrive 55+, a Senior Center in Groton, CT, and the North Stonington Education Foundation. Through Thrive 55+, she leverages her expertise as a Realtor to teach classes for members regarding downsizing, staging, market trends and advice or guidance on a personal one-on-one basis. Her community and business relationships help to bring in other professionals to help with classes in additional fields and topics such as mortgages, first time home buying, fraud & identity theft and deeding your home to your children, just to name a few. Believing that parent involvement is vital to her son's education and to help support the education of all students in her town of North Stonington, Mrs. Sawyer, along with other dedicated individuals and parents, raise money throughout the year to help fund grants and micro-grants which help to give the students of North Stonington access to educational experiences, opportunities, devices, STEM equipment and any other project the Board feels will enrich the education of those in the school district.
While her career has been filled with highlights, Mrs. Sawyer takes the most pride in her ability to take risks and pushing herself to succeed when faced with uncertainties. Her tenacity and competitive nature have helped her to become successful; however, she also recognizes that she would not be as successful without the constant support of her family. In the coming years, Mrs. Sawyer intends to experience her career's continued growth and success with the building of her team.
