With more than two decades of excellence in leadership through public works, Mr. Fisher has earned distinction as the director of public works for the Unified Government of Wyandotte County. Since 2016, he has focused his efforts on leading a team in the public works sector, cultivating a culture of continuous improvement within his team and ensuring they are equipped with the necessary resources to execute their duties efficiently. He is committed to empowering and supporting his team to achieve their highest potential.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Fisher served honorably with the United States Navy. Following his military service, he began his career as a staff engineer with the URS Corporation, An AECOM Company in 1999 and became the director of public works for the City of Grain Valley, Missouri in 2003. He served in a similar role for the City of Belton, Missouri from 2010 until 2016.
To prepare for his professional journey, Mr. Fisher earned a Bachelor of Science in geological engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology in 1999. Additionally, he is a long-time member of the American Public Works Association (APWA), and his team is proposing to APWA he be recognized for his outstanding accomplishments through the Kansas City Metro chapter and nominated him for the Top 10 Leader of the Year award nationwide.

He may be the only director in North America to have led two cities to accreditation in the American Public Works Association and proudly helps young and up-and-coming public work professionals at the Public Works Institute.
