Leveraging more than three decades of professional excellence, Ms. DeFoor is an established leader in the legal industry. Since 2013, she has thrived as the senior vice president and national agency counsel for Fidelity National Title Group in Jacksonville, Florida. In her position, Ms. DeFoor maintains responsibility for three company-wide operations, including National Agency Support Services, the National Account Reconciliation Unit and National Agency Commercial Services, as well as contract negotiations and underwriting tasks.

First joining Fidelity in 2010, Ms. DeFoor served as the senior vice president and regional major claims counsel, managing litigation and claims of more than $2.5 million in liability on behalf of Fidelity, individuals insured by Fidelity and/or individuals insured by a Fidelity subsidiary. Remaining in this position until December 2011, she subsequently served as the senior vice president and senior staff underwriter between 2012 and 2013, reporting to the chief corporate underwriter with responsibilities including the review and approval of worldwide transactions and the facilitation of pricing approval for all title insurance coverage of over $500 million. Earlier in her career, Ms. DeFoor served as vice president and senior corporate counsel with the Regency Centers Corporation in Jacksonville between 1995 and 2009, where she maintained responsibility for all aspects of the corporation's legal department. Moreover, Ms. DeFoor previously served as an associate with Ulmer, Murchison, Ashby & Taylor, P.A. in Jacksonville from 1990 to 1995. She commenced her career in 1989 as an associate with Leitman, Siegal, Payne & Campbell in Birmingham, Alabama, serving there until 1990.

Adjacent to her primary vocational endeavors, Ms. DeFoor lent her expertise to local politics, having served as a city council member for Duval County, Florida, from 2019 to 2023. As a representative for District 14, she represented more than 70,000 civilians across Duval County in the government sector. Furthermore, Ms. DeFoor has been a member of the Downtown Rotary Club since 2017, a board member of the Innocence Project of Florida since 2017 and a women's board member of Wolfson Children's Hospital since 1997. On behalf of Fidelity, Ms. DeFoor has notably excelled as vice president of the board for the title reinsurance company and a member of the board of the Florida Chamber of Commerce since 2022, having also engaged local citizens as president of the North Florida Regional Council between 2022 and 2023.

In 1986, she graduated from the University of the South ("Sewanee") in Sewanee, Tennessee, with a Bachelor of Arts in political science. Prior to graduating from Sewanee, she attended the London School of Economics. Shortly thereafter, she received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham in 1989 and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1990. After accruing many years in her field, Ms. DeFoor completed the Executive Program Strategic Negotiations Program at Harvard Business School in 2003.

As a testament to her achievements in the industry, Ms. DeFoor was named among the Women of Influence in 2020. In accounting for her success, she credits the unwavering guidance and support of her mentors, who always provided invaluable insight and advice. She was also awarded the Eve Award by The Florida Time Union in 2020 in relation to her work as a City Council representative in helping stop the sale of Jacksonville's public utility, the Jacksonville Electric Authority ("JEA"). The attempt to sell the JEA was described at the time as the largest attempt at a public theft in U.S. history.

Married to her husband Allison, she has six children: Mac, Will, Anne, Missy, Kate and James.
