Drawing on over five decades of expertise in the field of academia, Dr. Kasulis specializes in marketing and supply chain management education. Since his retirement in 2020, he has found much success at The University of Oklahoma, where he built a prolific career serving in a variety of roles from 1975 until 2020. While at Price College at OU, Dr. Kasulis served in numerous roles, including as Associate Dean under five different deans. He also served as Director of the MBA Program and as Coordinator of Business Advanced Programs which included offerings in Saudi Arabia, Panama Canal Zone, Norway, Washington, D.C. (Pentagon), Offutt Air Force Base (Nebraska), Ft. Sill (Oklahoma), and the OU Kellogg Continuing Education Center (Norman, Oklahoma). In addition, at different times, he served as Director of Executive Programs, Director of CBA Certificate Program in Management, Director of the OU/OSU Middle Management Program, and Senior Director of the Center for Healthcare Business. He also served for many years as Director of the Marketing and Supply Chain Management Division, one year as Director of the Division of Management, and one year as Interim Director of the Business Ph.D. Program. Moreover, he served twice on the University of Oklahoma's NCAA Certification Steering Committee and twice on OU's NCAA Certification Fiscal Integrity Committee, serving as chair each time. He also served on a joint task force of the Association of Doctoral Directors of Programs in Business/Graduate Management Admission Council, Advisory Committee of the AACSB/GMAC National Doctoral Fellowship Program, and on the AACSB/GMAC National Advisory Panel on Graduate Management Education Innovation.
In addition to his primary vocation, Dr. Kasulis has provided strategic consulting services to entities in the following areas: electric cooperatives, heavy construction equipment, general merchandise stores, supermarkets, furniture stores, automotive stores, auto and truck travel stops, media, weather, city government and hardware stores.
Before assuming a faculty position at The University of Oklahoma, Dr. Kasulis was employed at Sun Oil Co., and served in the United States Army, where he served a two-year tour as a military policeman at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York. Following this post, he was active as a part-time instructor at Manchester Community College from 1971 to 1972. He later excelled as an evening division teaching associate at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois from 1974 until 1976. In his career-related endeavors, Dr. Kasulis has been published in more than 65 publications and has conducted 20 contract research studies and numerous presentations.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Kasulis pursued an education at the University of Connecticut, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in marketing in 1967, followed by a Master of Business Administration in marketing in 1972. He continued his academic efforts at the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management, earning a Doctor of Philosophy in marketing in 1976. As a commitment to his field, Dr. Kasulis has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the Oklahoma Higher Education Heritage Society, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business and the Graduate Management Admission Council, among others.
Well-regarded for his contributions to the field, Dr. Kasulis has been recognized as a Marquis Who's Who Top Educator and has received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022. Additionally, he has been featured in Millennium Magazine and included in the Marquis Who's Who in American Education, the Continental Who's Who and the United Who's Who Executives and Professionals publications. Among his professional accomplishments, he is most proud to have served on the Research and Test Development Committee of GMAC at a time of change, including the addition of the writing sample section to the GMAT, as well as serving on GMAC's board of trustees and other functional roles. Reflecting on his achievements, he attributes much of his success to his perseverance, advanced education and to his father, whose career in the same specialty inspired him to pursue his vocational path.
