With more than a decade of excellence in business law, contract law and mergers and acquisitions, Ms. Vaval has earned distinction as a lawyer with Cabinet Salès. Since 2011, she has focused her efforts on practicing law mainly in Haiti, primarily handling cases involving business practice in Haiti. She has also founded the Internet Society Chapter for Haiti and volunteers her time and expertise there while providing pro bono assistance for intellectual property matters.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Vaval began her career as an articling student for Ministere du Revenu du Quebec in Canada in 2010 and was a chargée de cours for Universite Quisqueya in Port-au-Prince, Haiti in 2011. She had also lent her expertise to the Chamber of Conciliation and Arbitration of Haiti (CCAH) and to the American Chamber of Commerce in Haiti (AmCham Haiti). Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to contributing towards a better future in her community while maintaining high ethical and professional standards. Notably, she successfully managed the transition of a large Canadian bank when they left the country, overseeing the sale of their assets to a Haitian bank.
To prepare for her law career, Ms. Vaval earned her college degree from the prestigious Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf in Canada in 2005 and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Université du Québec à Montréal in 2005. Following these achievements, she passed the Quebec Bar in 2008 and subsequently gained a DESS in business law from the University of Montreal as well as a Juris Doctor in common law from Université de Sherbrooke in 2009. She also holds an intellectual property certificate from the WIPO-US Summer School on Intellectual Property.
Looking to the future, Ms. Vaval intends to acquire certification in another jurisdiction, enabling her to advise clients on the impact of each of their transactions. She is keenly aware of the importance of continuous education and wishes to focus on it to keep up with the ever-changing world.
