Previously, Mr. Mak worked as the global senior director of IoT & Smart Cities for Cisco. He also served as a managing director of the Office of Strategy and Planning, senior director of Worldwide Enterprise Services Marketing and Operations Lead, senior director of Managed Services for Americas, and senior director of Cisco Services in Canada.
Throughout his career with Cisco, Mr. Mak has contributed to the growth of his company and its clients worldwide and spearheaded internal startups for Cisco resulting in multi-billion dollar revenue impact. During the early stages of his career, he gained valuable expertise as a technology consulting partner for NCR in the telecom, retail, and financial industries. An expert in his field, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Computational Science from the University of Saskatchewan in 1988. Subsequently, Mr. Mak expanded on his professional knowledge by earning an MBA in International Business Management from Asia Pacific International.
During his tenure with Cisco, Mr. Mak co-chaired the Cisco Asian Affinity Network. In addition, he contributes his time to those less fortunate in his community with a local food bank and Habitat for Humanity. In 2021, he was named to the Top 10 Most Inspiring Leaders Making a Difference by CIO View Magazine. In light of his professional achievements, he won the Outstanding Leadership Award from Internet 2.0 in 2022. While his career has been filled with highlights, he is most proud of establishing 99Bridges. Personally, Mr. Mak is honored to have married his wonderful wife, with whom he has raised a beautiful family.
