SACRAMENTO, CA, December 20, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to honor Anna Yeung Mayo with inclusion in Who's Who in the World. An accomplished listee, Ms. Mayo celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Mayo retired from the California Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) in 2021 as an information technology developer and consultant after nearly two decades in her position. Based in Sacramento, the DCA is a department within the California Business, Consumer Services, and Housing Agency. Its goal is to serve the best interests of consumers within the state.

During an earlier stage of her career, Ms. Mayo was a video professional in the performing arts sector from 1988 to 1996, responsible for promoting and organizing the visual arts of local and international high-ranking artists. A pioneer in the performance space during the 1990s as an Asian-American, Ms. Mayo was among the first to make her presence known after spending many years behind the curtain.

In addition to her paid position, Ms. Mayo frequently volunteered her time as a videographer and fundraiser for local churches, volunteered for the University of California Medical Centers in San Francisco and Sacramento, was a recruiter for community volunteers to work with senior groups, students, business vendors, politicians, and other leaders for nonprofit organizations. Most honorably, she served her country in the U.S. Air Force. Ms. Mayo was a medic for 20 years in the reserves and served during Operation Desert Shield in 1992. Following in her father's footsteps, who not only served as an air pilot in the Air Force to the rank of colonel, he was also very artistic.

She also received a Special Award from the Voluntary Bureau in 1997. Among other recognitions, she established the first U.S. Medical Library at the U.S. Air Force Base in 1980. For her performance work, Ms. Mayo was instrumental in the first Asian performing arts organization to be co-sponsored with the Sacramento Symphony to produce the first east/west music program at the Sacramento Convention Center and the San Francisco Hertz Theatre. She attributes her success to her curiosity and desire to continually move forward.
