Before transitioning into real estate, design, and development, Mr. Pope spent over four decades in land and timber acquisition, management, and sales. After college, he spent five years as the Mississippi land and timber procurement manager for Mobil Oil Corporation. He subsequently founded his own land timber company in 1979, when the industry was expanding rapidly throughout the south. When the timber industry took a dramatic downturn in 2000 and the recreational land industry was exploding, Mr. Pope refocused his efforts on the unique recreational land business. Looking toward the future, he aims to assist as many clients as possible in their desires to take their unique properties to the next level, reach their full potential, and get the maximum pleasure and value out of their properties.
Active civically, Mr. Pope invests time as a volunteer at area schools, providing landscaping and cleanup on their campuses. He is also involved with the National Wild Turkey Federation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving and enhancing the wild turkey and the hunting lifestyle. Among other nonprofits, Mr. Pope is active with Ducks Unlimited and Quail Unlimited and is a life member of the National Rifle Association and the prestigious Safari Club International.
Mr. Pope was educated at Mississippi State University, earning an undergraduate degree in forestry and wildlife management. Well-qualified in his current career, he is also a licensed real estate agent in Mississippi.
In light of his success, Mr. Pope has received multiple worldwide Hunting Awards through Safari Club International. He was also recently selected for a featured article in the U.S. and International Real Estate Top Agent Magazine. Mr. Pope attributes his success to his mother, who is 92 years old and still active. His mother taught him to appreciate the beauty of nature and how to transform a property into a beautiful space. Mr. Pope also notes his father instilled in him a love for the great outdoors and credits his Dad for the hunting, fishing, and bush skills he retains today. Mr. Pope is adamant that his success is very dependent on his two extremely valuable teammates.
