Having taught in the classroom in Great Falls, Montana, for 15 years before deciding to return to college to earn a doctorate, she was eager to make a bigger impact on students. During her tenure, Dr. Hollensteiner also served as a curriculum director for the Yakima School District in Washington, as an assistant superintendent for Eagle Pointe School District 9 in Oregon, and was affiliated with the Santiam Canyon School District in Oregon.
Following a long line of educators, including her mother and several aunts, Dr. Hollensteiner became the first in her family to transition from teacher status to administration in the capacity of a superintendent. Critical to her success, she consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic and maintained positive working relationships. Dr. Hollensteiner also always recognized the importance of understanding, supporting, and caring for her faculty members to ensure they could perform their jobs well.
Civically invested, Dr. Hollensteiner has been engaged with her local branch of Rotary International. She is highly educated, earning a Bachelor of Science from the University of Montana Western, a public university in Dillon, and a Master of Education from Montana State University in Bozeman. Years later, Dr. Hollensteiner retired to Montana State University to acquire a Doctor of Education in educational leadership and administration.
Dr. Hollensteiner attributes her professional success to several remarkable mentors. She also notes her parents, who were always supportive and allowed her to pursue her passions, and her strong work ethic and integrity, which she never compromised.
