In the late 1980s, Mr. Patricio enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the infantry during Operation Desert Storm. His role was pivotal in the liberation of Kuwait and the removal of Saddam Hussein and the Republican Guard. Despite facing health challenges, including contracting fungal meningitis and undergoing multiple brain surgeries, Mr. Patricio's commitment to service remained unwavering.
Following active combat duty, Mr. Patricio transitioned to a Marine Corps role in computer repair and networking. His exposure to the field ignited his interest in information technology. However, a disabling medical condition did not deter him; instead, it motivated him to explore new avenues.
Mr. Patricio joined Electronic Data Systems (EDS), starting as a Help Desk Technician and advancing to become a Systems Administrator. He successfully completed the EDS Systems Engineering Development (SED) program, evolving into a software engineer and later transitioning to project management. His tenure in the California State and local government sector at EDS marked a pivotal phase in his career.
Driven by a desire to establish his own business, Mr. Patricio accepted a project management role at the East Bay Municipal Utility District, a company that supported employees in pursuing entrepreneurship. In 2011, he founded Patricio Systems LLC, initially dedicating nights to its development.
Today, as the owner and president of Patricio Systems, Mr. Patricio oversees business development and service delivery management for government, academic, and other clients. Notable achievements include managing a five-year, $1.2 billion data center application migration program for the County of San Diego and a two-year, $450,000 benefits third-party administration migration Software as a Service (SaaS) cloud solution.
Mr. Patricio credits his success to those who believed in him and acknowledges the steadfast support of his wife, Almie. Looking ahead, he aspires to become a Paralympian, reflecting his determination to overcome challenges.
