While her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Sherman takes the most pride in playing a vital role in the class-action lawsuit against the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. It pertained to the Mississippi River Gulf Coast, which had eroded beyond authorized limits and lacked safety measures. Another standout moment was being a candidate for the Louisiana Legislature in 2019. Although she lost the race, it paved the way for her current role.
