After graduating with Dean's List honors and a Master of Public Administration from The John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Mr. Orndorff served as a congressional fellow and defense consultant in the U.S. House of Representatives and in other bodies within Congress as a legislative assistant, director of legislative affairs, and deputy director, among other positions. In reflecting on his career, he cites one of his most significant accomplishments as his tenure in the office of management and budget. During that period of time, he received a Master of Science in operations research from the Naval Postgraduate School and went on to work as one of four analysts responsible for assessing the Department of Defense's budget before it moved up the ranks to be presented at the White House for inclusion in the president's budget and then submitted to Congress.
As a result of his time working for the largest government agency, Mr. Orndorff holds top secret and sensitive compartmented information clearance with a counterintelligence polygraph. With nearly 10 years of experience working as a direct report to C-suite executives, where he developed a unique ability to establish relationships and foster cross-functional partnerships, he went on to join Amazon Web Services in 2022 through the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship. After working as a data analyst and artificial intelligence and machine learning consultant, he promptly stepped into the role of technical program manager before assuming his current position of financial operations manager.
Outside of his managerial role at Amazon, Mr. Orndorff volunteers as an official for USA Swimming, an opportunity he has enjoyed since 2018.
