As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Dixit has carved a distinguished career as a leader in corporate citizenship and advocacy for environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives. As the Senior Director of Corporate Citizenship at The Nielsen Company, Ms. Dixit has been instrumental in founding and nurturing the company's global environmental program the past 11 years, establishing sound and strong fundamentals upon which environmental advocacy can be driven forth by the business. As part of this role, Ms. Dixit has spearheaded new environmental policies and guidelines, helped establish a global green-volunteering program connecting business and grassroots efforts to climate justice, and also created Nielsen's first online environmental training course that went on to win "Best Blended Learning Opportunity" Award at mLearnCon 2015 Conference. Over the years, her role expanded to supporting the Company's overall ESG strategy, collaborating across the business to align operational goals with responsible and sustainable practices. Her vision is to create an integrated ESG program that brings together Nielsen's business and cultural values with a deep understanding of their impact and role in environmental and social justice.
This part of Ms. Dixit's professional journey began as a market research analyst, eventually bringing her to Telephia Inc. in 2006, which was acquired by The Nielsen Company in 2007. She then progressed to Manager of Operations at Nielsen from 2008 to 2010 before becoming a Black Belt in Business Process Improvement from 2010 to 2013, a leadership program built on six sigma and lean principles. Prior to her current role, she served as Director of Corporate Citizenship at Nielsen from 2013 to 2022. Before joining Telephia Inc., Ms. Dixit managed front office operations at Dadeland Marriott in Miami from 2002 to 2003 and worked as a market research analyst at BrandOutlook, LLC. in Arizona from 2005 to 2006.
In addition to her corporate responsibilities, in 2012 Ms. Dixit co-founded Rewire Community, where she serves as co-Executive Director and Board President. Through this nonprofit organization, she champions gender equity and justice, climate justice and awareness for interpersonal violence (IPV). Rewire Community's vision is to create empowered, integrated and inclusive communities, free of cycles of violence and prejudice. This work has included engaging with youth, addressing micro-aggressions and teen dating violence; international efforts of supporting sexual assault awareness workshops in India, providing feminine hygience products in Kenya and sponsoring the Pink Bus in Nepal for women; locally supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through support groups, survivor relief care kits and financial aid; and promoting dialog and action for healthy boundaries and relations through cultural events such as street theater, dance, music, book clubs, basketball and art workshops, to name a few. The organization was specially recognized for its work through the pandemic, going above and beyond to serve survivors of gender based violence, receiving the 2021 Champion of Change award from Asian Women's Shelter in California, and 2021 Unsung Hero Award from Assemblymember Alex Lee (D - San Jose, California).
Ms. Dixit's expertise extends beyond these achievements. She has a passion for sports, and has played basketball at the national level in India. She is also a certified Domestic Violence Counselor under the State of California (code 1037.1).
The foundation of Ms. Dixit's commitment to social and environmental causes can be traced back to her upbringing in India. Her work is deeply rooted in the values of love, service and integrity, that she has witnessed since her younger years. Raised by women who have been trailblazers in their own journeys, from those who were part of the Indian independence revolution to ones who paved their way into serving in the United Nations to those who march the streets today for equity and justice, Ms. Dixit derives inspiration from the courage and compassion she continues to see around her, emboldening her to stay steady on her path.
Outside of her professional life, Ms. Dixit is dedicated to raising her two daughters with an emphasis on civic engagement, empathy and activism. She continues to coach basketball in youth leagues, breaking gender stereotypes, and organizes community-based initiatives that reflect her passion for environmental and social justice work.
Looking ahead, Ms. Dixit envisions further developing her corporate environmental, social and governance program into an integrated framework that holds space for both business and humanity. She also aims to continue enhancing and expanding Rewire Community's support services and broadening its reach to empower more across the Bay Area and beyond. Ms. Dixit believes that one can always spearhead a reform by living with humor, passion and intent.
Ms. Dixit earned a Master of Arts in Mass Communications and Advertising Management from the University of Florida in 2005 and a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from Florida International University in 2002. Additionally, she holds a Diploma in Tourism and Hotel Management from the International Institute of Tourism and Management in Austria, completed in 2000. From here, her transition into marketing and communication led her to Rewire Community and Nielsen, where she has made significant strides in process improvements and ESG advocacy for the business and her community.
