His background in finance includes writing software for the Fidelity Management & Research Company, State Street Corporation, and Merrill Lynch. Trained in software engineering with specialization in artificial intelligence, Mr. Chamberlain formerly worked as a computer scientist developing algorithmic software and doing advanced technology integration, including simulation and visualizations. 'He did research and technology development for 15 years in the areas of algorithmic design, artificial intelligence, geospatial and undersea data, space science, scientific simulation and visualization, remote sensing and tracking, cyber operations including embedded and systems programming for Charles River Analytics, a firm that specializes in performing cutting edge research for the different branches of the Department of Defense and other government agencies.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Mr. Chamberlain is active in community affairs and is currently the Chairman of the Newington Historical District Commission. He has served on the Budget Committee for the Town of Newington and in other political roles. He is active in cultural affairs in New England by being a proprietor of both the Boston Athenaeum and the Portsmouth Athenaeum. He supports the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance and the Strawbery Banke Museum. His educational background includes the International Baccalaureate (1984), Bachelor of Arts in Politics from Princeton University (1988), and Master of Science in Computer Science from Northeastern University (1993).
Mr. Chamberlain is a long-time book collector and has a library of approximately 20,000 volumes covering many domains but concentrating in history, technology, archaeology and culture. He is a licensed pilot and experienced in flying both single engine aircraft and gliders. His ambition is to create a museum of Early American history that will provide a new and outstanding contribution to awareness and knowledge of the history of the United States and its cultural beginnings.
