As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Rifkin is an attorney and executive celebrating more than a decade of success in his fields. Raised by two first-generation working attorneys (David Wright Rifkin and Dori Gray Rifkin) who built a law firm together, Mr. Rifkin knew from a young age that he would not simply follow in his parents' footsteps, but seek to venture beyond those footsteps and immerse and educate himself in both law and complex business. An alumni of the University of Miami, he graduated cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a minor in business law, and earned a Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, in 2011. As a student, Mr. Rifkin earned an early reputation for excellence, earning induction into various honor societies, including the Order of the Coif, and earned several merit-based scholarships and awards. He has continued to pursue opportunities for professional growth throughout his career, and in 2018 he completed an Executive Master of Business Administration at Brown University and IE Business School.
In 2010, Mr. Rifkin began working with Higer Lichter & Givner, an AV rated legal firm in Miami, Florida, where he exceeded the goals set for him by senior partners and brought significant new business to the firm's healthcare and intellectual property practices. After four years of excellence in litigation while broadening the firm's healthcare segment, Mr. Rifkin joined Commonwealth Laboratories, Inc. as its first General Counsel. During his time, Mr. Rifkin represented Commonwealth Laboratories through a series of industry-disrupting licensing and commercial transactions. In 2015 Mr. Rifkin navigated the organization through its strategic acquisition by a multibillion dollar publicly traded biotechnology company. Later in 2015, Mr. Rifkin co-founded Commonwealth Diagnostics International alongside longtime friend and colleague Craig S. Strasnick. CDI was launched as a dynamic laboratory medicine company specializing in gastrointestinal diagnostic testing and patient care. As a co-founder, Mr. Rifkin also served as chief legal officer and executive vice president, a position he held until 2018, when he assumed his current roles as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Legal Officer. Mr. Rifkin is responsible for overseeing all strategic planning, legal and business operations, and regulatory and compliance affairs for Commonwealth Diagnostics International, working alongside other company executives and strategic partners to ensure quality operations and continued growth in the United States and throughout Europe. Among other accomplishments, under his guidance, Commonwealth Diagnostics International has pioneered ownership of MyGIHealth, a digital ecosystem and application that provides patient-provider engagement tools for healthcare practices, patient-driven marketing and sales solutions for health care brands, and subject recruitment and enrollment services for academic researchers, industry sponsors and clinicians. From 2015 to 2023, Mr. Rifkin guided CDI and its affiliates through continued commercial growth while simultaneously spearheading licensing deals, joint ventures, acquisitions, business combinations, and complex commercial transactions.
In addition to his work with Commonwealth Diagnostics International, Mr. Rifkin has served as a board member and advisor at multiple health technology and startups providing strategic advice and counsel. In recognition of his early-career excellence and innovation in his field, Mr. Rifkin was named to the International Forum on Advancements in Healthcare's 2021 Top 100 Healthcare Leaders list, and he is active in the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Health Lawyers Association. He credits his success to dedication, persistence, and a belief in his ability to accomplish his goals, and counsels others not to be afraid to take calculated risks. In his personal time, Mr. Rifkin is a husband (wife Anna Rifkin) and father (Grayson Rifkin) with another boy on the way in March of 2024, a proud Judeo-Christian, a person of deep faith and commitment to prayer, and is active in his community as a supporter of charitable outreach efforts including the American Cancer Association, American Alzheimer's Association, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, the American Red Cross, Feeding America's Hungry Children, several Ukraine-based charities, and other charitable organizations.
