Since 2019, he has focused on designing a system that would treat saline water for drinking and industrial applications, which was the focal point of his research at Oregon State University. He currently provides technical leadership and expertise in the development of machine fluids e.g., diesel oil, natural engine oil, lubricants, coolants, alternative fuels and biodiesel fuels. He is also involved in designing validation plans and project reviews for internal and external customers for a global company. Additionally, he is a valued member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Water, Energy and Technologies Laboratory.
Prior to his present role, Mr. Uwaoma began his career as an intern with the role of a Technical Assistant for Dubri Oil Company Limited, Nigeria in 2013. He later became a Petroleum Engineer while doubling as a Production Support Engineer there in 2014. In 2017, he was later promoted to Senior Production Engineer. After his master's degree in the U.S., he volunteered as a Mechanical Project Engineer with CloudData Technology LLC in 2021. To prepare for his professional journey, Mr. Uwaoma earned a Bachelor of Engineering in petroleum engineering in 2010 and a Master of Science in engineering management in 2017, both from the University of Benin in Nigeria. Following these achievements, he attained a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from Oregon State University in 2021. Well-qualified in his field, he completed HSE training for oil handling operations with Benemak Integrated Services Limited, radiation worker training and NORM worker training with Dubri Oil Company Limited, among other credentials.
Within the coming years, Mr. Uwaoma intends to transition his career to a consultant role specializing in alternative fuels and manufacturing. He plans to collaborate with other experts in the field to design and implement innovative solar models and aspires to be actively involved in the development of hardware that can tackle water, energy and technology challenges head-on, helping to create a more sustainable future. He is passionate about creating sustainable solutions and sees opportunities where others may only see problems.
