MALDEN, MA, January 11, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marianne Genova Long has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
With a career spanning nearly three decades, Ms. Genova Long has established herself as a dedicated educator in the field of mathematics. Currently serving as a mathematics teacher at Malden High School, she has embraced the challenge of teaching English Language Learners alongside her regular mathematics courses. She instructs students across various grade levels, from ninth to twelfth grade, in Mathematics One and Introduction to Mathematics. Her ability to connect with students of diverse backgrounds and learning levels has been a hallmark of her teaching style.
Before her current role at Malden High School, Ms. Genova Long was a high school mathematics teacher with RPA Fall River Public Schools starting in 2020. This position allowed her to further refine her teaching methods and contribute to the academic growth of her students. Prior to this, she spent approximately 25 years with the City of Waltham from 1995 to 2020, where she honed her skills in educating young minds and fostering an environment conducive to learning and curiosity in mathematics.
Building upon her professional experience, Ms. Genova Long's background laid the foundation for her success as an educator. She earned a Master of Education from the University of Massachusetts Boston and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The transition from industrial engineer to educator was sparked by her desire to become more involved in a school setting, as well as her natural affinity for mathematics. Her academic achievements have played a significant role in shaping her approach to teaching and have been instrumental in her ability to inspire students.
Transitioning from discussing her professional journey to her personal life, Ms. Genova Long's passion for education is matched by her enthusiasm for sports and coaching. As a passionate supporter for her children's baseball and hockey teams, which were coached by her husband, she demonstrated leadership and commitment to youth development outside the classroom. Her dedication extended to serving as a ski team coach for several years, including during her son's high school tenure as well as a co-coach alongside her friend for her two sons' youth hockey teams while they were young.
In addition to coaching, Ms. Genova Long enjoys an active lifestyle that includes water skiing, snow skiing, boating, and traveling. Looking ahead to the future, she anticipates retiring alongside her first-year class when they reach their senior year in 2026. This milestone will mark not only the end of an era in her teaching career but also the beginning of new adventures, as she plans to travel extensively with her husband following their retirement.
