COATESVILLE, PA, January 12, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Heather L. Prince, PhD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. A skilled researcher on evidence-based policing and policing reform, Dr. Prince has earned distinction as a research criminologist for RTI International. Since 2022, she has focused her efforts on working to make positive changes in policing to make it more fair, equitable and of better quality. She specializes in crime prevention and primarily involves police training and policy development, collaborating with police departments to analyze data, including 911 call data and various policing policy interventions, to identify and implement solutions to policing issues.
Additionally, Dr. Prince has served as a research assistant for the American Society of Evidence-Based Policing since 2019 and is a valued member of both the American Society of Criminology and the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. She is particularly proud of the work she did through a grant through the American Society of Evidence-Based Policing, where she was able to teach a class of police officers and academic researchers about data, coding and how to use data to solve problems in their departments.
Prior to her current role, Dr. Prince served as a program coordinator for the Boy Scouts of America in 2014 and was promoted to Scoutreach program director in 2016. Later that year, she worked as a summer youth employment program supervisor for SafeGaurds Foster Care until becoming a teaching assistant for the University of Pennsylvania in 2017. She subsequently served as a research assistant for the Quattrone Center for the Fair Administration of Justice and as a graduate research assistant for the George Mason University Center for Evidence Based Crime Policy, both starting in 2018.
To prepare for her career, Dr. Prince earned a bachelor's degree in criminology, sociology and political science from Albright College in 2017. Following this achievement, she attained a Master of Science in criminology from the University of Pennsylvania in 2018 and a Doctor of Philosophy in the same field of study from George Mason University in 2022.
Looking to the future, Dr. Prince intends to continue her work with RTI International, taking on larger grants and proposals to explore international law enforcement research opportunities. Dr. Prince plans to continue her work in policing and aims to contribute to lasting positive change in the law enforcement field. Likewise dedicated to civil advocacy, Dr. Prince volunteers assisting local elementary school students with literacy skills, such as reading and writing.
