Since stepping in as the company's leader in 2018, he has overseen its core business of handling payments for customers of two of China's largest mobile phone service providers, China Mobile and China Unicorn. Among Mr. Shen's myriad responsibilities is management of regulatory filings and corporate governance requirements with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Nasdaq.
Widely recognized as a proactive business leader that sees results, Mr. Shen considers his most significant achievement to be his success in getting FingerMotion, Inc., traded on a major stock exchange; prior to his leadership, the company was publicly traded on a lesser "over-the-counter" market. This complex process required fulfilling a vast array of regulatory obligations related to revenue, shareholders and corporate governance, and it was a success thanks to the cooperation of several members of the company's Asia- and Canada-based leadership team. Prior to joining FingerMotion, Inc., Mr. Shen served as founder and senior vice president of Imperial Distributors (formerly AP Martin Pharmaceutical Supplies Ltd.) and finance manager at Weir Minerals. Earlier in his career, he was chief operating officer and chief financial officer at R. Wales & Son and a tax manager and senior accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC.
Mr. Shen holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia and studied financial management at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. He is a certified public accountant and remains active with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
When he is not working, Mr. Shen enjoys being physically active, playing sports including golf, tennis, soccer and pickleball. In the coming years, he looks forward to expanding his company.
